ABOUT US
Caffeinated Heroes was conceptualized and founded by Kempton Urban and his wife Kelly in 2024. Kempton, is a retired police officer while Kelly is a registered nurse. Together, over their careers, they identified the mental power that community support provides for first responders and front line workers. They also identified that every moment on duty is unique; filled with unpredictability and challenges. Amidst this ever-changing landscape, coffee remains a steadfast companion, offering a sense of familiarity and comfort.​​​
​When Kempton retired, they set out to give back to both the communities and the jobs that give/gave them so much. They provide coffee to all heroes at work, training and special events. Their goal is to alleviate a small portion of the stress these heroes face by ensuring that their most essential need - a cup of coffee - is readily available and free to them.​​​​​
​​​Operating as a non-profit, they rely on the generosity of the community to fund their mission. With that support, they take on the responsibility of sourcing and delivering the coffee those heroes crave. Before they depart, they make certain that each hero understands the profound gratitude and backing of their community which has fueled them. This connection fosters stronger bonds within the community, nurtures mental health, and boosts job satisfaction among our heroes.​
OUR MISSION
STATEMENT
At Caffeinated Heroes, our mission is simple: to fuel the unsung heroes of our communities - first responders, healthcare workers and their support teams. Every day, these remarkable individuals sacrifice their own comfort to tirelessly serve their communities with pride, integrity, and selflessness. In return we want to serve them back with these same values. We recognize that without heroes, our society cannot thrive, and without caffeine, our heroes cannot thrive. We strive to provide a smile everyday, free to them and paid for by the communities they serve. Together, let's keep our heroes caffeinated, energized, and appreciated.
OUR VALUES
PRIDE
Being a healthcare hero or first responder is inherently a humbling profession. You go to work and you're not always liked, trusted or believed. But they all still go to work, take pride in what they do and serve with everything they have. When we serve them coffee, we want our heroes to know the pride we put into each batch, the pride we get from serving it and the pride we get telling them, this coffee isn't from us, it's from the community they serve.
INTEGRITY
Integrity is the foundation of everything that is expected in any heroic profession. The community expects persons who serve them to be truthful and free of judgment. Our non-profit wants to serve this same expectation with every cup we pour, even if you drink decaf.
SELFLESSNESS
Defined as the act of thinking less about yourself and more about others; this is exactly what our community heroes represent. When you are asleep, they are awake; helping and protecting you. Maybe you never need or see them, but they are still there. And why do they do that; because they are thinking about you over their life. They could be on vacation or asleep, but they aren't. They are waiting for you to need them. That is why we choose selflessness. We want to wake up early, too stay late and come in when command staff calls and says, we need hero fuel!
